The love of God and of the people of faith, has a primary role in life. The love of God is perceived with the rebirth of the human soul. It is the highest path that our Lord has shown us. Love one another he said after all. However, this love is genuine and without hypocrisy with the ultimate goal of peace and blessing in the fellowship of brothers and sisters. True love that fills and unites the church of Christ is characterized by self-sacrifice and service to one another.

"By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another."
John 13:35

There is evidence that belief in the Name of Christ can lead to miracles and greatness in heaven. After all, how could one be called a Christian without having pure faith in the Gospel?

"And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him." Hebrews 11:6

The church is Christian which means that the honored person is Jesus Christ. We do not invoke any name other than that of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Holy people of God who lived in the past are now in Heaven and awaiting their resurrection. Yet, Christ is already risen… and is present.

Jesus is “‘the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone.’ Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12

Prayer has power! We get to know this first-hand. In the church you will find people who have personal experiences of how God heard their prayer and answered it miraculously. Also, in prayer we find the opportunity to glorify God and thank Him for His blessings. Through the scripture we see that our Lord spent the night in prayer on his knees. Therefore, if Christ himself knelt before his Father, how even more shall we? That is why at the time of prayer you will find us on our knees with our hands raised, giving glory to God! At the command of the Gospel, the faithful sisters are called to cover their heads with a headscarf during prayer and only then.

“The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”  James 5:16

In the church you hear the Word of God in simple modern Greek (with translation in English) so that it can be understood by everyone. It is one of the main elements of the church as we believe that it contains the power of God that can save. We read and believe in the New Testament drawing lessons and teaching from the Old. Preaching takes place without shyness but full of love and encouragement. The Sunday Sermon lasts between 35-45 minutes and has a specific message from the Bible.

^“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3: 16-17

Every Sunday we gather for the Holy Communion. It is the most important moment of our week as we all stand in front of our God and partake from the table of the Lord, remembering the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for us. Christ the day before he was betrayed, shortly before, cut unleavened bread and distributed it to his disciples along with the wine in his glass. Then he instructed to perform this ritual every week and we follow it faithfully. We use unleavened bread and red wine which we distribute in separate glasses. We advise people who have not yet been integrated into the body of Christ to abstain, but without hindering them.

“He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me. Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you.” Luke 22: 19-20

The church of Christ is the place where the Holy Spirit acts and manifests on the people of faith. We believe and have the experience of Baptism in the Holy Spirit just as it happened to the Apostles and the faithful of the first church. The Spirit of God comes and dwells in the body of Christians and manifests itself through the murmur of various languages. It is the power of God that fills man and prays for him in foreign tongues. Additionally, the Holy Spirit works through spiritual gifts with which it adorns people for the service of the Gospel. Gifts such as prophecy, the word of knowledge, gifts of healing and miracles, etc. Awe fills us through and with the visit of God.

“When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place.  Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues^[a] as the Spirit enabled them.” Acts 2: 1-4

After the sermon we have the regular habit of sitting together and eating food that the brethren have prepared from home and bring to church. At that time, in addition to our meal, we share our joys and sorrows, the events of our lives and our experiences with God. This unites us and brings us all closer to each other. After all, we are in our Father's house, and as brothers it only makes sense to want to have fellowship with one another.

“So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favour with all the people.” - Acts 2: 46-47

Our worship is expressed through simplicity. Following the example of the first church you will notice that the place of worship does not contain icons or other decorative elements. We believe that religious icons have no place in the church of God as it seems to be a transgression within the Word of God, which reveals that it is no different from the worship of idols. God is alive and is a spirit, thus there is no need for an icon, as He is alive and present!

“Because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.” Romans 1: 21-23

In our church the ministers do not have the form of priests as they were in the Old Testament. They wear simple clothing and are no different from the rest of the people. They are servants of Christ who try to bring His message to their fellow man. The appearance of God's servants has a purpose… to glorify God.

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.” Romans 12: 1

In our church we sing hymns to God together. Everyone with all grace given by God participates in the hymn with his heart. We do not have dedicated chanters or musical instruments to accompany but we raise our voice to the Father with simplicity.

”Speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord,  giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Ephesians 5: 19-20

Visiting the house of God is one of our greatest joys. The gathering place of the children of God is not a library where there is extreme silence but an alive place with joy and blessing.

I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go into the house of the Lord.” - Psalm 122: 1

Every first day of the week we make our regular collection. The contribution is completely optional and according to the will of everyone. There is no kind of decimation, but we all give what God provides for the needs of His work.

“Now concerning the collection for the saints, so you must do also: On the first day of the week let each one of you lay something aside, storing up as he may prosper.” - 1 Corinthians 16: 1-2

In our church we have made the decision that officers do not receive a salary for any service they offer. We believe that we should all work hard in our work as well as in god's work. We maintain the boast of the Apostle Paul who chose to preach the gospel so that the money would not get in the way of saving people.

What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel. 1st Corinthians 9:18
